13 February 2024 – the Yoruba Party in the UK (YPUK) is registered with the Electoral Commission to encourage, energise and assist Yoruba people domiciled in the United Kingdom (UK) to achieve their full potential as individuals and as a group, and to encourage and assist them to contribute their all to the political and socio-economic life, and the development and growth of the UK.

22 May 2024 – PM Sunak calls a snap general election for 4 July 2024 and YPUK members resolve to use the opportunity to launch the party and field candidates in 10 constituencies with Black population of over 25% – Camberwell and Peckham, Croydon North, Erith and Thamesmead, Edmonton, Lewisham Deptford, Lewisham East, Birmingham Ladywood, Hackney South and Shoreditch, Vauxhall, and Tottenham, but in the event only one candidate, Olusola Oni, came through for the Peckham constituency.

7 June 2024 – YPUK commenced its campaign in the Peckham constituency with 30,000 leaflets hand-delivered by volunteers to persons, cars and homes, 40,000 copies of the manifesto handed to the Royal Mail for delivery, election rallies held on 22 July 2024 at Rye Road and on 29 July 2024 at the Old Kent Road, candidate made visits to local churches and mosques to meet with worshippers, candidate attended half a dozen media interviews home and abroad and there was widespread social media campaign.
